2002 Sturn L Series

More visually interesting, Saturn L Series 2002 comes with standard curtain side
airbags on Saturn's midsize line. An optional rear-seat video entertainment system
was also added. The L-Series offers sedan and wagon body styles. Sedans come as
L100, L200, and L300 models, the wagon as LW200 and LW300 models. All have Saturn's
dent- and rust-resistant polymer panels for front fenders, doors, and bumper fascias;
other body parts are steel.
The 100 and 200 models have a 4-cyl engine with manual or automatic transmission,
the 300s a V6 with automatic. In addition to curtain side airbags, standard features
now include traction control, ABS, and, on all but the L100, 4-wheel disc brakes.
Newly available on 300 models are optional 16-inch chromed alloy wheels vs. the
standard 15s. Other new options include a 6-disc in-dash CD changer, and, at midyear,
an automatic climate system. Found on Saturn L entertainment system are DVD video,
a fold-down ceiling-mounted 7-inch screen, and wireless headphones. In mid 2002,
a new grille and GM's OnStar assistance system became available.
